Message from your new President Karen Nelsen.

First of all, I want to tell you how very excited and proud I am to be representing all of you here in South County in this crazy profession we all love! Thank you for your trust; I will try my best to lead us in a positive direction…

As we move forward this year I believe we will see a strong real estate market. Inventory is still very low and homes are continuing to be sold at or above their listed prices.

Our community, along with the rest of California, is seeing a housing shortage and affordability crisis. I know our legislators are strategizing and trying to come up with a plan on how to alleviate this crisis.

Our new President of C.A.R., Jared Martin, sent out his January message and in it you will find information about the new laws that have been adopted for Real Estate as well as what Gavin Newsom is planning for California’s housing needs in 2019. I hope you get a chance to read it if you haven’t already.

Most importantly, I want to focus on bringing our real estate community together. We are all in this, and we should all be fighting for each other. In this day and age of these takeovers and everyone trying to undermine what we do and what our value is, we NEED to band together. Being respectful, and showing a united front is the best way to combat this. We are professionals, and we should carry ourselves in that exact manner. There is plenty of work out there for everyone…best wishes and may 2019 be a healthy and prosperous one for each and every one of you—let’s work and have some fun doing it!!
